Color the Coast 2026

A Day of Joy and Connection: Color the Coast 2026

What an incredible day at Fort Stevens State Park! Yesterday, April 11th, we gathered for the Color the Coast for Autism 5K Fun Run, and the energy was absolutely electric. Beyond the bright colors and the fresh coastal air, it was a landmark day for the NeuroHomes mission.

Building Community Under the Trees

Our booth was buzzing all morning. It was a privilege to share the theoretical frameworks and the practical roadmap for NeuroHomes with so many of you. From discussing the “Dual-Pathway Model” on our research boards to handing out fliers for our upcoming housing initiatives, the support was palpable. Every conversation reinforced why we do this: because neurodivergent people deserve homes that are safe, affordable, and designed for how our brains actually work.

New Friendships & Collaborations

One of the absolute highlights was connecting with the wonderful folks at the Autism Society of Oregon. Their dedication to the community is inspiring, and we are so grateful for the platform they provided.

I also had the pleasure of befriending Jaime Rhodes, the Executive Director at Sammy’s Place. Learning more about their disability community in Oregon was a breath of fresh air. It’s connections like these, finding fellow travelers in the world of inclusive housing and community building, that give our movement its strength.

Small Moments, Big Impact

Whether it was seeing the smiles on the faces of the runners covered in blue and yellow powder or watching the next generation point at our project boards, the day was a beautiful reminder that “Autism is proof that love doesn’t need words.”

How You Can Help Us Grow

We are currently raising funds for our 1023 filing, event signage, and outreach materials. Every dollar goes directly back into building a world where we all belong.

Donate: Visit neurohomes.org/donate or find us on Venmo.

Join the Conversation: Our Discord is always open for those who want to share their vision for neuro-inclusive housing.

Volunteer: We are looking for board members, grant writers, and lived-experience advisors.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke with us, and shared their heart. We’re just getting started.
